CERAMICS IN ACTION
12 Sept 2026

For one evening, Fortu_Sur brings its world out of the shop and into the Palazzo garden. Founded by Carlos Osman and Umberto Saporiti, Fortu grew from two different but complementary creative backgrounds: Carlos trained as an architect before building a career in fashion and accessories, while Umberto comes from the world of jewellery. Their work has always been rooted in a fascination with materials, craftsmanship, colour and the people who know how to make things properly. Today, that curiosity has found a new home in the south, where Fortu_Sur works closely with local artisans to create and curate objects that bring traditional skills into a more contemporary conversation.
For Ceramics in Action, those objects are not displayed behind glass or admired from a distance. They become part of the evening itself. Ceramics and tableware created with local makers move from shelf to table — filled with food, passed from hand to hand, touched, shared and used exactly as they were intended. It is a chance to discover the work through experience rather than simply looking at it, and to hear some of the stories behind the people, techniques and collaborations that brought each piece to life.
Around the table, Marco Cataldo creates an aperitivo designed to live inside and alongside the objects, accompanied by wines from Cantina Paolo Leo. A long table in the garden. Good food, good wine and beautiful things being put to work.
A different way to experience design: not from a distance, but in action.
